ICF coaching certification is a credential issued through pathways accredited by the International Coaching Federation, the largest coach accreditation body in the world. It confirms that a coach has completed the required coach education, mentor coaching, performance evaluation, and credentialing exam required to practice professionally. At ILA, you can pursue this credential through our Level 1 (ACC) and Level 2 (PCC) programs, guided by facilitators who are themselves ICF PCC and MCC certified.
ILA runs ICF-accredited coaching programs across three levels: Level 1 (Associate Certified Coach), Level 2 (Professional Certified Coach), and Level 3 (Master Certified Coach). Each program is delivered virtually, so you can train from anywhere in India while working with the same international and Indian mentor coaches.
The Associate Certified Coach (ACC) is the Level 1 ICF credential and is ideal for coaches beginning their professional coaching journey. It requires 60 hours of ICF-accredited coach education, 100 coaching hours, 10 hours of Mentor Coaching (common to both ACC and PCC), a Performance Evaluation, and the ICF Credentialing Exam.
The Professional Certified Coach (PCC) is the Level 2 credential for experienced coaches. It requires a total of 125 hours of ICF-accredited coach education, 500 coaching hours, the same 10 hours of Mentor Coaching, a Performance Evaluation, and the ICF Credentialing Exam. While ACC focuses on building foundational coaching competencies, PCC emphasizes advanced coaching mastery and is often preferred by executive and leadership coaches.
Program fees vary depending on the level (ACC, PCC, or MCC) and the batch you join, and ILA positions its pricing as competitive on a global scale rather than fixed at one number. You begin by choosing the credential pathway that best aligns with your coaching experience and professional goals. Most coaches start with the ACC (Level 1) credential, while experienced coaches may choose to pursue the PCC (Level 2) pathway based on their coaching experience and readiness.
From there, you complete the required coach education, mentor coaching, coaching experience hours, and performance evaluation before applying directly to the ICF for the Credentialing Exam. To earn the ACC (Associate Certified Coach) credential, you must complete an ICF-accredited Level 1 Coach Education Program. At Indian Leadership Academy, the Level 2 journey comprises a total of 125 hours of coach education (including the ACC journey), along with 10 hours of Mentor Coaching and a Performance Evaluation. Once you have completed the required 500 coaching experience hours, you can apply directly to the ICF for the Credentialing Exam using your program completion certificate and supporting documentation. Experienced coaches may also choose to enroll directly into the Level 2 pathway, depending on their coaching background and professional goals..
Level 1 (ACC) is the foundation of the ICF coaching journey. It covers the core coaching competencies through 60 hours of coach education and is where most new coaches begin. Level 2 (PCC) builds on this foundation with an additional 65 hours of advanced coach education (125 hours in total), helping coaches deepen their coaching presence, powerful questioning, creating awareness, and coaching for transformational outcomes. Both Level 1 and Level 2 programs at Indian Leadership Academy include 10 hours of structured Mentor Coaching, Performance Evaluations, and guided support throughout the credentialing journey.
ACSTH and ACTP are legacy ICF accreditation terms and are no longer used for newly accredited coach education programs. The ICF has transitioned to the Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Coach Education framework. Indian Leadership Academy offers ICF-accredited Level 1 (ACC) and Level 2 (PCC) programs in line with the current ICF standards.
